Web Design - Beginners 1
THIS PROGRAM IS OFFERED TO GRADES 6 – 8
January 14 – March 4, 2025 (8 lessons)
Every Tuesday, 4:00pm – 5:30pm
Maximum 12 students; minimum 4 students
This class will provide students with the foundational skills they need to begin mastering the core technologies to become a web developer utilizing HTML, CSS and much more!
1. The conclusion of the first half of this session, students will compile their work to create a personal website (portfolio) they can publish and share.
2. The second half of this session, we will teach the foundational skills they need to begin mastering a RESPONSIVE web site.
a. The responsive web design will adapt or respond to the width of the web browser and make sure all the content is properly displayed on any device. This will include mobile phones, tablet, and desktop with just one design.
b. Every student will pick one of his parent's careers to create a site for it.
Lesson Overview
Lesson 1 : Introduction to website; HTML structure/tags/text format; List, Inline style.
Lesson 2 : Internal Stylesheet; Introduction to CSS; External Stylesheet

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Mrs. Vivian Ibrahim’s journey began when she graduated from Computer Programming at Seneca College. Mrs. Ibrahim has worked as a free-lance web developer and moved towards teaching Robotics for various organizations. Finally, Mrs. Ibrahim opened her own school (Josiah Learning Centre) to teach students all about coding and robotics, equipping them to be successful professionals.
