Chess Club

January 15 – March 5, 2025 (8 lessons)
Every Wednesday, 4:00pm – 5:00pm
Class sizes vary:
Grades SK - 1 : Maximum 10 students; minimum 6 students
Grades 2 - 4 : Maximum 12 students; minimum 6 students
Grades 5 - 8 : Maximum 12 students; minimum 6 students
The Chess Club by The Chess’n Math Association is organized by PCA teacher, Mrs. Aspinall. Chess has been used as a powerful tool to improve mathematics, memory and intelligence for more than 130,000 children at schools throughout Canada in 2011, where chess is part of the curriculum.
Your child has the exciting opportunity to improve their mental skill taking chess lessons with professional chess instructors from the Chess’n Math Association who currently teach at more than 70 schools in the GTA.
Small class size, from beginner to advanced, allow for quality instruction. Each lesson is followed by a practice session. Certificates achieved are awarded at the end of each course. And the best part is……….Children learn through play!

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Mrs. Aspinall is a current teacher and Athletic Director at Peoples Christian Academy. She has organized and led many chess clubs and attended tournaments as she believes it is a valuable game to teach young minds in how to take decisive action while carefully planning out their strategy through a series of critical moves.
