About This Art Piece: The Artist’s Statement

"The Starry Sky" was a collaborative drawing and painting effort portraying the essence of God's Creation on Earth. “And God said, Let there be lights in the dome of the sky to separate the day from the night; and let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years" (Genesis 1:14-15). This bible verse in the Book of Genesis was our main source of inspiration for painting the celestial sky, sunset, and mountains. We wanted to depict how celestial bodies and their perfect timing are controlled by the Lord's word. We believe that the light of the world is a divine concept, leading to righteousness and compassion.

The theme is “The Eternal Sky” which is symbolic of the infinite and vast nature of the sky. It serves as a metaphor to rely and put your faith in Jesus to transform into a boundless steward with no limits. Its hidden meaning is to persevere through life’s struggles and stand up against all odds. God’s place for His creation to dwell is timeless and everlasting, without any beginning or end. The Lord’s creative and unique force displays both the bright sky and cosmic world.

The most rewarding aspect of this painting was its creative exploration. The best part was painting the mountains using a wide range of hues, tones, tints, and shades. It felt like we were able to bring an idea to life, making it a remarkable achievement. The most fulfilling and satisfying moment for our team was unfolding God’s command. Our group discovered the true essence behind Jesus' commandment, “Let there be light”.
