The PCA senior school’s HOSA team has been meeting every Friday since October. HOSA is an organization that exists to inspire and equip students who are interested in health related careers. PCA joined HOSA the first year it came to Canada four years ago. We have guest speakers such as doctors and alumni students pursuing medicine come and speak to us. We also have our own HOSA team members present workshops. Each year we join the National Leadership competition where our members compete against students from across Canada in the event of their choice. This year there were 6000 students. I am very proud of all our 23 members who worked hard studying for their event and attended medical workshops at the conference.
This year we are grateful that three of our students placed within the top 5 of their events. The events they placed in are Dental Terminology, Pharmacology and Medical Terminology. Two of the students placed third in their event and have qualified for the International Competition in Orlando, Florida. They will both be going in June of this year. We are grateful for our HOSA team’s accomplishments!
