PCA annual Christmas Concert Series took to the stage before a packed house in our school gymnatorium on December 6th, December 10th and December 13th respectively. Our lovely students from Early Learning Centre to Grade 12, music teachers and staff devoted hours in setting up stages and chairs, memorizing scripture, music and lyrics, all for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Our Gr. 1 to Gr. 5 students presented a beautiful Christmas Cantata, titled “Night of Miracles” by John W. Peterson on Thursday, December 6th. It was an excellent telling of the Christmas story intertwined with narrations and songs. We enjoyed the ten songs so much as they are so warm and full of musical expressions. Once again we marvelled at the students’ superb concentration throughout the Cantata under Dr. Siu’s leadership!
The small but mighty group of ELC and Kindergarten performed the most adorable version of “All is Well”, “Emmanuel”, “Silent Night”, “Happy Birthday Jesus”, and “Feliz Navidad” on Monday, December 10th. It was so heart warming and so precious, especially when they recited the scripture from Luke Chapter 2. What’s a better way to tell the birth of Jesus than from the Bible itself?
Last but definitely not least, our Middle and Senior School Christmas Concert marked the finale of our Christmas concert series with the theme “Light shining through darkness”. The Senior School Worship Team, Instrumental and vocal groups, Band and Orchestra, dancer and soloist all gave their best and their hard work and God gave talent was evident. The last number, sung beautifully by Fideles, “A Strange Way to Save the World”, invites us to imagine if Jesus’ birth had been different:
“To think of how it could have been
If Jesus had come as He deserved
There would have been no Bethlehem
No lowly shepherds at His birth”
It is so humbling and amazing that God gave us His Son, Jesus to come to the earth to save me and you, so we can also be the light to the world!
