On Friday, April 12th , over 70 students and 30 adults came to PCA from King City,
Barrie, Rexdale, Orangeville, Alliston, Brampton, and PCA to compete in our annual
Battle of the Books competition. We had a wonderful day with excellent Battle and
Lightning Rounds which included detailed questions about the 9 novels each student
had read and studied.
PCA had 2 teams entered into the Battle of the Books competition. Our students
prepared for this competition for 6 months and practiced several times a week at lunch
and recess.
Our PCA Teams placed 1st and 4th ! We are so proud of all of them. A special thanks to
Mrs. Abdulnour for her detailed preparation, for reading all 9 books, creating excellent
questions, leading our weekly practices, and for letting me know we had won 1st place,
while I, Mrs. Peart, was pacing outside the door!

Editor’s note: We would also like to thank Mrs. Peart for all her hard work and encouragement during the Battle training, and for being a Godly example of what humility is like for the teams!
