Congratulations graduation class of 2017!

In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. ~ Proverbs 16:9

Our guest speaker and alumnus, Ms. Melody Li, mentioned this Scripture during her remarkable address to Graduates on June 29, 2017. On this day, PCA held its graduation ceremony for 28 students, the class of 2017, in the sanctuary of Markham Chinese Baptist Church.

Both the Salutatorian, Jennifer Wan, and Valedictorian, Chloe Chin, expressed their appreciation towards their families, teachers and staff, fellow graduates, and most of all, our Lord for His faith and provision. They also emphasized the special bonding of the graduating class will not be broken easily.

Numerous awards and scholarships were presented during the ceremony. Among them was the Christian Education Award. This award recognized parents and students for their long commitment to Christian Education over the course of their Elementary, middle and high school years. This year we have five students who celebrated 12 to 15 years at PCA respectively. It was truly an emotional moment when our “Lifers” presented the yellow roses to their parents, who gladly received the roses with teary eyes and smile from ear to ear!

It is worth to mention that Mrs. Gibson and Mrs. Cannemeyer, who was their JK teachers, came to share the joy with the used to be kindergarteners!

Of the entire graduating class, 14 students received scholarships totaling $29,000 approximately. We are so proud of their accomplishment! See below for more exciting facts about this year’s graduating class.
