The” Battle of the Books” is a literary competition that was hosted by King Christian School on Monday, April 24th. Five Christian schools in the area competed in this competition. Each school could enter a Junior team (grades 4-6) and a Senior Team (grades 6-8). Each team was expected to read a total of ten (10) books and learns every detail in each book. At the competition, in the Battle Round, teams are asked questions that start with “In which book…?” questions. In the Lightning Round teams are asked “who, what, where, when…?” questions. Each team may have up to six members with one substitute. It is exciting that PCA sent two Senior teams composed of five (5) team members! They were timed and tested on the content of the ten (10) books…down to the very, nitty-gritty details found in each book. Our students had been preparing for this competition since the Fall.
We are so proud to announce that PCA placed 1st and 3rd in the competition! Well done PCA!
The students conducted themselves with great sportsmanship. Many thanks to Mrs. Abdulnour for her many, many hours of preparation, for reading all 10 books and preparing our students to compete at their very best. Thanks also to Mr. Spee for his detailed questions as well!
