On Friday, May 8, Peoples Christian Academy conducted an all-school walk for Save the Mothers, an international charitable organization founded by Canadian obstetrician and PCA alumna, Dr. Jean Chamberlain-Froese. Some four hundred and fifty students and teachers, from the Early Learning Centre to Grade 12 participated in the Walk, which took place in the area of the school and extended, for the Middle and Senior Schools, to Highway 7 and Woodbine Avenue.
Thanks for the overwhelming support of PCA community, a total of $14,500 was raised.
On Thursday, June 11, in a special all-school assembly, PCA presented a cheque of $14,500 to Dr. Dan Scott, CEO of Save the Mothers. Rev. Reg Andrews, Director of Operations and Ministry, says, “We embrace this opportunity to raise awareness of the plight of maternal health in the developing world. The fact that Save the Mothers is spearheaded by our alumni (both Chamberlain and Scott are graduates) is an added incentive.”
Thanks again to our PCA community for the great support. To God be all the glory.
